St. James Episcopal School has long enjoyed a thriving spirit of community and giving which has shaped the School. Educating a child requires a great faculty and strong curriculum—but it also requires the generous involvement of all of our loyal families and friends. Parents, alumni, grandparents, past parents, and faculty and staff provide a partnership of financial support that enables the School to fulfill its mission and provide success for our scholars. Tuition covers approximately 70% of the total cost to run St. James. As a part of our overall financial operations, the Board of Trustees authorizes and supports three major fundraisers during the year designed to fill the gap and meet the remaining amount of money needed to operate. Each family at St. James is asked to participate in these three fundraisers at a level comfortable to them. The most important part of any fundraiser is the level of support and participation.

Annual Fundraisers
Here is what families can expect during the year:
- A scholar-led fundraiser – Scholars will participate in a Run, Roar, & Raise Color Run to help raise money for the School. The drive emphasizes the importance of philanthropy and "Doing the right thing, because it's the right thing to do". All proceeds from this year's fundraiser are directed towards technology in the classrooms, athletic uniforms and equipment, and new playground turf.
- Annual Giving Campaign – This is our largest fundraising event of the year, which kicks off in October. The goal is set by the Board of Trustees in keeping with our operational budget needs. Parents will receive an investment card, with an opportunity to give. Donations may be made as a one-time gift, by incremental payments throughout the year, or by making a pledge to fulfill payment at a later date. Typically, we recognize all donors in our School publications by investment levels, unless a gift is given anonymously. Only investment levels are reported and actual amounts remain private. The Annual Giving Campaign is also generously supported by our Board members, faculty, alumni, and friends in the community. The Annual Giving Campaign generates a small percent of our operating budget.
- Spring Fling Event – The “Spring Fling” is an adult-only party in the Spring where parents, faculty, alumni, and friends come together to support St. James while enjoying great food, cocktails, and music. Proceeds are raised through a live auction, silent auction, bid board, games, sponsorships, and ticket and table sales. Patrons can bid on trips, wonderful merchandise, and one-of-a-kind scholar art projects. It is always a fabulously fun event for all!
